Simply put, we have too many cows for us to handle sanely at this time. Therefore the Kandi Klassic in Willmar seemed to be the right sale at the right time - this Thursday at 8 p.m. We hate to see this great group of 4 milking cows leave the Raylore barn, but we are excited for what they could do for their new owners. Here are some in-the-stall shots we got of the cows this Monday (just a couple days ago!) and some notes from us outlining their features. Of course seeing them for yourself can be much better. 	Raylore Election Nisswa Very Good - 86 Of the 4 cows that will head to the sale, the one that really catches everyone's eye is Nisswa. She is starting her second lactation the last days of July and is milking in the 90s. She need to see the classifier! Already VG-86, this Election daughter is very well balanced with a really good udder. Her dam is a GP daughter of Gillette Carlton and made 27,000M as a 3-year-old. TO give you an idea how attractive and the future Nisswa has in store, when Barclay Phoenix visited here last summer he indicated his interest in the cow. But the timing wasnt right for us to sell then...it is now. We really think she could go on to do great things for her new owner.

	Raylore Lightning Jazzie Here's Jazzie! A fresh 2-year-old daughter of Crestomere Lightning (Storm x Acme Star Lily). She has style to burn and a just right combination of strenth and dairyness. Many times we wondered why we didn't take her to the State Fair. She wasn't quite ready - but we strongly believe her time is coming. Her pedigree goes like this - dam is a VG Election making over 25,000M easily this year and a candidate for the 'E' category, VG Rudolph, EX Lindy (Lana's 4-H cow that was 2x Res. Champion at the 4-H State Fair), EX Champ, EX, VG, VG, VG...and I can't remember back anymore but all homebred! Jazzie is milking in the 70's and is bred back to the Laurin bull at Select.

	Raylore Cousteau Icelily-ET Another consignment is our Icelily cow. A daughter of Cousteau from Sarah's VG-88 Starbuck daughter (Blacklily), next dam is a VG-89 Inspiration and then EX-90 GMD Arlinda Cinnamon and her pedigree from there runs deeper than a well. Icelily is fresh in August with a heifer calf by Ruann Durham Lassiter. She is Lasslily. Remember the name, this is quite a calf from a cow that has loads of style and dairy quality. She finished with over 23,000M and 1000F as a 2-year-old and is currently milking in the 80's!
Raylore Election Moravia Our last consignment is Moravia, an Election that once you see her you'll know there is more points to be given here. Just fresh this cow is a components specialist with 4.7% fat and 3.4% protein. Her dam was a daugther of Canyon-Breeze Storm Atom that had records to almost 25,000M and on back to a string of VG, long lived, high fat and protein cows. Moravia wasn't pictured because she is like an artist's painting that wasn't done at picture time - but you will like her just the same. Delilah represents over 50 years of being bred, born and raised on our farm. The trademark of this family has always been exceptionally good mammary systems and high milk components. The “Snow” family at DeBoer’s in South Dakota also has those same trademarks. Both of these families trace back to some of the original members of our herd.

Delilah was raised to EX-93 at 11 years of age. She has given us only one daughter by Regancrest Emory Derry thus far – Raylore Delicious Derry EX-90. Delilah is sired by Rothrock Tradition Leadman from an EX-93 daughter of a former herd sire, Heurs Valiant Champ.

Delilah’s granddaughter from her EX Derry daughter is Raylore Drew Delicacy – pictured to the left. She calved last April with a sweet Damion heifer calf and scored EX-90 this past August. Two weeks later she was named Grand Champion of the MN State Fair FFA Show. We are excited to have 3 generations of EX cows milking side-by-side and going strong!

	Both Sired by Marcrest Encore, Election and Eloquent's full siblings include Expose (EX-95), Express (EX-95 EX-94 MS) and Electra (EX-95 EX-94 MS). Eloquent’s charm and personality is admired by all who work with her at the farm as well as those who visit. She has the style and grace one would expect from this breed dominating cow family. Eloquent was Honorable Mention Senior Champion at our 2005 county fair. She was fresh this spring and is working on a great record! 	MN State Fair 2008 The high point of our summer is always the "Great MN Get-Together!", the MN State Fair. We were there again this year and had a great time. A few of the high points were Elizabeth's achievements in 4-H and FFA. To name a few... 4-H Interview Award Winner 2nd & Purple Ribbon 4-H Summer Yearling with Raylore Leduc Jolee Top 10 Sr. 4-H Showman 1st Jr. Holstein Show Summer Yearling Champion Jr. Holstein Sr. Showman Top 5 Sr. FFA Showman 6 animals shown in the FFA show, none lower than 3rd 7th Individual & Reasons and 2nd Team at State 4-H Dairy Judging Contest Member of the MN team to Louisville in November! Congrats on a great State Fair, Elizabeth! The State Fair was also extra special this year having Aubree around! She really enjoyed all the activity and waving to all the people. Its not hard to see that this little girl is very comfortable around cattle - both beef and dairy. That's got us excited for the future!
