Michigan Indiana Spring Foundation Sale Report
March, 25 2010
The Michigan Indiana Spring Foundation Sale was held March, 25th on the campus of Michigan State University, East Lansing. Managed by Can-Am Sales and sponsored by the Michigan and Indiana Holstein Associations, the unofficial average was $2802.

Topping the sale at $13,000 was Michigan Brnc Linda 4622-ET, consigned by Michigan State Univeristy and End Road Farm. De-Su Holsteins of Iowa made the purchase. The second high seller at $8,000 was Lot 1 a pick from six of the best Tri-Koebel Heifer line up. The buyer was Jason Lamoreaux. The six heifers included Tri-Koebel Laurin Fergie, Tri-Koebel Jenuwyn-ET, Tri-Koebel Debonair Tristan RC, Dundee x Tri-Koebel Aspen Jolly, Tri-Koebel Aspen Wiley-ET, Tri-Koebel Strm Freebird-ET.

Eric Westendorp, president of the Michigan Junior Holstein Association took his turn in the box during the MJHA Semen Sale. The MJHA uses this money to fund activities for the association and this year 10% of the proceeds were donated to the Heath Pennick Family of Orland, Indiana, to cover expenses of his hospitalization after his farm accident last October.

Classification Highlights

• VerHage Holsteins classified on Saturday, Feb.7th adding several new Very Good cows by Sosa, Best, Wizard,Titanic, Freelance, Adam, Allen and Goldwyn. Married Well Gold Rascal-ET moved up to VVVVV-87. Rascal is a *RC Goldwyn from the Roxy family. Ver Hages Allendra-ET, a Canyon Breeze Allen from Ver Hages Bootpeg Roshel, the full sister to Alta Roswell-ET, moved up to VVV+E-88. Ver Hages Btpeg Goldwyn-ET is VVVVV-86 and Ver Hages Finale-ET by Buckeye scored V++++ 83-just 19 days fresh. Finale is the last daughter from SFL Bootpeg W Bethany-ET.

• Tim Baker, Star-Summit Farm, Byron Center, MI, classified and had 38 Excellents and 33 VG from 76 animals.
