It was standing room only for a crowd that came to buy at the Geadelmann’s Oak Forest Dispersal. The herd was in near perfect condition. The pedigrees were outstanding with a tremendous blend of type and production thru out. For those who enjoy the art of breeding, every animal sold carried 3 generations of the Oak Forest prefix. There were 44 buyers that purchased 87 head from 10 states. The final average was a deserving $2589.76.
A pair of cows shared the high selling honor at $6100 with both going to the Badger state. Lot 60 Oak Forest Captain Louise E90 is fresh with her second calf at 2-11. Due in March to Parker she was backed by 5 Ex and VG dams and is headed to Swiss Miss Farm, Fox Lake, WI.
Lot 83 Oak Forest Premium Val E91 1st 4yr IA State Fair 2009 was backed by a V87 State Fair winning dam who has 1,164 at 1-11. Her 2nd dam also V87 was Hon. Mention All American Summer Yearling 1999. Ron Kelm added Val to his Markesan, WI herd at the tied high of $6100. Val’s daughter was the cream of the crop in the bred heifer division. Lot 86 Oak Forest Denver Velvet sold for $4500 bred to Wonderment. This IA State Fair winning Spring Yearling will be making her home with Taylor Graves, Springfield, KY
The third high seller was also the top selling open heifer. The consortium of Allen “Blackie” Ehrman and Mark “Ricco” Schulte, Watkins, WI singled out Lot 43 Oak Forest Ment Fever for $5600. One of the very attractive Top Acres C Wonderment calves sold, her E91 dam, Lot 40 Oak Forest Premium Flora was the $4100 choice of Lance & Jonna Schutte Monona, IA.

33 head sold for an average of $4063. The 33 animals and 6 embryo packages were purchased by 34 different buyers from 10 states and 3 countries.
The top seller at $8100 was Lot 10 Brothers Three HP Whip It ET consigned by Brothers Three and Hillpoint Partners. This 9/08 Legacy is a daughter of Brothers Three Wisper 2E92 All Am Jr. 2y 2002 and All Am Spring Yearling 2001. Whip It’s maternal sister was the over-all winner of this years Kings Mill Futurity. Lauren DeBruin Lake Mills, WI was the final bidder on this impressive heifer.
Next high was Lot 2 at $6600. Consigned by Ron Strauss Fredonia, WI SDF Legacy Suspense ET is on her way to Tanner Bos of Fresno, CA. A 3/09 daughter of Old Mill PT Shazam ET E90 with 26,376 at 3-8. Shazam’s dam is non-other than the “Legendary” Old Mill E Snickerdoodle 3E94 8 time class winner at World Dairy Expo. She was Grand Champion and Res. Supreme Champion again this year.
$6200 was the next high for Lot 7 Top Acres Garbro Brandy ET She was the pick of Grant & Bailey Groves Billings, MO. This growthy 10/08 Avalanche daughter was from Top Acres Pre Bouquet ET 2E94 a 3 time All America and WDE class winner. Brandy was the consignment of Wayne E. Sliker and Garrison Bros. St Paris, OH

Thompsview Dispersal

A light rain helped fill the sale tent to capacity at the Kent Thompson Dispersal. The herd was widely recognized as the owner of Sun-Made Jetway Shatzi 3E94 Elite Superior Brood Cow with 53,460m 2766f 1903p. 19 head sold from her maternal line.
The days $5000 high seller came from a home bred springing heifer. With her prom dress on she was the selection of Leif Thompson, Viroqua, WI. A Boumatic from a 3E91 23,940 Challenge who sold at 12 years old to Signe Thompson.
The second high seller was also a bred heifer. Ron Strauss selected Thompsview Prem Shampoo ET at $4500 to add to his building herd in Fredonia, WI. She is a Premium daughter of Shatzi herself and sold bred 2/18/09 to sexed Agenda.
Production in the herd had slipped in recent years but buyers should see a very positive response to a little extra attention given.

Jerry Hayden Dispersal

Jerry Hayden passed away in April. He owned the farm in Arpin, WI and had other non-ag business interests in the Chicago, IL and Phoenix, AZ areas. His family decided to disperse the herd as soon as possible. The herd was not classified or on any form of production testing.
After cataloging the cattle, herd manager Jeff Hartman took 11 head of Brown Swiss out of the sale as an alternative to payments. This was a disappointment to those who came with particular animals on their short list and a surprise to sale management.
The top seller was a 4 yr old Elm Park Mascot Packer daughter thought to have freshened in March. Steve & Vonda Ponto of Gilman, WI took her home at $2550.

The Bridge View Dairy Dispersal, held March 9, 2009 in Mira Loma, CA, averaged $2160 on 171 lots.
The high seller at $18,500 was Bridge View True Mallory, purchased by Rottinghaus and Woods. Second high was Bridge View Delight-ET, bringing $7,000 and third high was Bridge View Michs Lyndsey at $6,000.
As the final gavel fell, 42 bred heifers averaged $1895, 88 cows averaged $2337 and 40 open averaged $2050. Cattle sold to eleven states and three Canadian provinces.

Swiss Sensation Sale, Elm Park Farm – Jerland Farms Dispersals

A beautiful, unseasonably warm fall day greeted the potential buyers at this high profile offering.
Guests were treated and appreciated an authentic Swiss style brunch and were entertained by the Yodel Club of New Glarus, Wisconsin.
With real Alphorns and yodeling echoing though the room, Mort Tower Frisky 2E94/95ms ascended the sale ring ramp. Three times an All American and the National Total Performance winner of 2002, Frisky was Grand Champion at World Dairy Expo in 2001. She sold with 19 daughters and 4 granddaughters. The 11 year old Frisky due in January, was secured for the top dollar of $31,000 by Stranshome Farm, Owatonna, MN with seller Jerland Farm retaining an interest. Rottinghaus/Woods, Madison, WI were the under bidders. The Frisky offspring sold for a total of $114,750.00
Another Mort bred cow was the second high seller at $15,000. Mort Form Tassel E91/92ms the All American Winter yearling and WDE Jr. Champion of 2003 sold as an ideal flush possibility. She is a 5th generation EX from the Mort Matt Tammy family. Reid Stransky, MN was the purchaser of this long, tall cow.
The third high seller was also the high selling bred heifer at $13,000. Ziembarbway Celestial ET was a guest consignment from Ziembarbway Farm, NY. She is a Jet Pilot from Ziembarbway Blue Chip Cecil E91/91ms Hon. Men. Champion New York State Fair 2008. Celestial was the choice of partners Gregg Christianson and Gus Weis, WI while her dam Cecil was selected for $5200 by Rottinghaus/Woods, WI.
Elm Park Velvet ET V88/88ms 2y Elevation daughter was picked by James Grimm Aurora, MO for $6300. Velvet had 11 maternal sisters sell from the 2E90 Genesis Preston Veronica cow.
Another strong maternal line featured from Elm Park was Misa Prophet Mirage 2E91 Hon. Men All Am Jr. 2y 1998 she a granddaughter of Hoosier Knoll Jade Monay 4E93/96ms. The feature of the family was a fresh V89/91ms 3yr Bridge View Primetime that brought $5100 from Ron Kelm, WI. He also chose 2 of Elm Park Madelin ET’s full sisters plus her 9/07 Energy daughter to add to his fine herd.
The large pre-sale Elm Park semen auction had a total of just over $16,000.

59 buyers from 17 states selected their favorites from the 102 live animals and 1 embryo package sold. The sale averaged a very fine $4258.

in Feb. she will have no trouble bumping up several points. Look for
this fancy Sr. 3yr. old to be part of the Double W Dairy, CO show string
this year.
Tim Navis consigned the second high seller Lot 7 at $6500. A big, well
cut Summer Yearling with pedigree to back up the type. A Denmark from
4 Ex dams, all Nom. All American in the Vixie family. Her own dam is
2E92 and a 2 time All American Nominee. Foxy ET was the pick of the
investment group of Blessing, Mort, Osbourn & Lortie, Ft. Wayne,
IN
The third high seller also was an open heifer, Lot 5 a 12/07 Galaxy
daughter of Alegria Starbuck Rapture the V89 daughter of Hawthorne
Rhythimic Riki 3E94 2x All American. Michelle Fluty, Bloomington, Il
added this special heifer to her show string.

Bail-Mik Dispersal - February 14, 2008
A band of snow that started early sale morning covered Central Wisconsin leaving a foot of accumulation in its wake. While it discouraged some from attending, those that braved the blanket of white fluff were ready to buy.
The 67 head were purchased by 37 buyers from 8 states. 14 head found new homes via phone bids. The quality in this short notice sale was reflected in an outstanding average of $3204.76.
The sale headliner was the # 1 PPR (tie) cow in the Brown Swiss Breed
Elm Park Hart Ameri Lady ET 2E91/92ms 3-0 365 3x 48,430 4.4 2,149 3.5 1,716.
Lady was the wise purchase of Elm Park Farm, Ltd. Sheboygan Falls, WI at the top price of $19,000. Lost Elm Farm and Ron Strauss were under bidders on this untapped contract cow.
Lady’s influence impacted the runner up price of $9200 for Lot 37. A fancy Dynasty heifer due in April carrying a Vigor pregnancy from Lady. Her grandam is 2E91 with 37,750. After a spirited duel Ron Strauss, WI added a piece of the family to his herd.
The top selling open heifer also emerged from this high component family with Lot 6 peaking at $4000. Dr. Kenny Manion, KY was the successful bidder on this interesting 12/07 Scipio daughter of Lady.
Ed Hart of Loredo, MO is no stranger to this influential family having bred many great ones from Lady’s grandam the “Edge” cow. He picked out Lot 21 a V88/90ms Denmark who was carrying the other Vigor pregnancy from Lady due in April for $6800.
Mr. Hart also added a very correct Jr. 2 prospect to his list for $6100. Lot 4 who just happens to be an own daughter of Lady by Prstige bred to Vigor.
Lot 8 a potential 7th generation Excellent Dynasty 2yr from the Priscilla family brought $6000 from Ron Strauss. Hills Valley Dy Percept-ET V86/87ms, unfortunately was checked open at the sale but will go right on the flush program in Fredonia.
The Luttropp’s added Lot 15 a $5700 third generation Excellent Pronto due in March to Hart’s Elevation to their Lost Elm herd at Berlin, WI.
Myron Turk Brooklyn, WI selected Lot 7 the V87/90ms Towpath Dynasty Lauren also open this 2yr. will be added to his embryo program. She has 7 Excellent dams right from the 5Ex Sup. Brood Cow, Vine Valley Paul Luann’s family.

“Fierce Winter Storm Pounds Through The Upper Mid-West”
Sale day was anything but nice as far as the weather was concerned. Several had to wait out the storm until Sunday before loading for home. The sale itself did not show the ill effects of the weather outside. A nice crowd with 37 interested buyers snapped up the 56 head for an average of $2935.71. The 8 embryo packages of 40 embryos averaged $385/embryo. The buyers tallied in from 8 states with 44 lots staying in the Badger State.

Kent Thompson, Viroqua, WI was the seller and Jaime Govela Mexico was the buyer. 2nd high was Lot 1, the 1st choice female offering by Old Mill TA Starsky ET from Mort Tower Frisky 2E94, A 3 time All American and WDE Grand Champion in 2001 and 2002 National Total Performance winner. Consigned by Jerland Farm, Barron, WI she was purchased by Dan Weness, Leroy, MN. 37 animals sold averaged $4348 and went to 12 states with 8 head going to Mexico. The top selling embryo package was 5 #1's at $2100 per embryo by Peters Top Zoldo Zeus from Old Mill E Snickerdoodle 2E94, 6 time All American and Supreme Champion WDE 2003. The 31 embryos averaged $946.
There was much anticipation for the first ever Milking Shorthorn Sale held at WDE on Thursday, Oct. 4th. The sale highlighted 8 lots that were offspring or from families that were National Show winners. Topping the sale was Lot 1, consigned by Dale & Deanna Bendig & Nick Raggi, PA, Spungold-R Logic Pledge ET. She was the recently named Jr. Champion from the Eastern National and is a daughter of Gold Mine Poppy's OT Kay 2E95, All American and 1st Aged cow at this years WDE. She is also the Breed Milk Champion with 5/10 365 46,666 3.3 1544 3.1 1,427. She was purchased by Sarah B. Weimer Emleton, PA.
Lots 4 & 5 tied for 2nd high seller at $5600. Lot 4 was a 1st Choice Female from Innisfail BDC Stella 905 2E93, All American Aged Cow & Grand Champion WDE 2006. Consigned by Hard Core Farms, PA, she was the purchase of Ryan Rida, Worthington, MA
Also bringing $5600 was the consignment of Jesse Landsgard, IA, Lands-Brook Courtney-EXP. Megan Kulp of Manheim, PA purchased this fancy heifer from the 3E94 Lands-Brook Christe family that includes a E91 3/4 sister Christina-EXP, a Unanimous All American Jr 3yr 2006.
The 8 "Show Winner" lots averaged $5293.75.
