The Western New York Spring Preview was the place to be to see an impressive show, filled with quality cattle. Although numbers were down, quality ran deep from top to bottom. This year marked the 7th annual Spring Preview, held on May 3rd at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg, New York. This year Judge Richard Hill lined up 68 Holsteins. LBH Superman Bottle captured Grand Champion honors for owner Emily Mikel. Judge Hill praised this silky white cow for her dairyness and beautifully attached udder. Giving her the advantage in mammary and how she moved on her feet Judge Hill gave her the nod over Cline-Crest Durham Princess, the winning 5-year-old owned by Larry & Beanie Hill and Jeff & Lesa Mulligan.
EK-Oseena Aspen dominated the heifer show, siring both Junior and Reserve Junior Champion, as well as several other high placing heifers. Mac-Mara Aspen Gracie, exhibited by Jacob Duppengiesser, swept the heifer show with her open, dairy frame and size and scale. This fancy heifer's dairyness and angularity tipped the scale in her favor as she took Junior Champion honors over HSW Aspen Davinci, the winning spring yearling owned by Dean and Carry Sharp.
