The New England Spring Invitational Sale on March 19th in Derby, VT, posted an average of $5,166 on 96 lots. The International Associates % Cy Nelson offered Cowtown Durham Laughter-ET as lot 1 and when the hammer fell she was struck off to Gerald Todd Sr., Gerald Todd Jr., Jim and Jeff Butler, of TN and IL for $50,000. She is a 9/06 Durham daughter of Elleeta Skybuck Lucy (2E-95) Lucy’s accolades for 2007 included International Holstein Show Grand Champion, All-American Aged Cow and People’s Choice Cow. Lucy’s 5 of 6 nearest dams are VG or EX.
   The 2nd highest price of $24,000 was paid by Gerald Todd Sr., Brigeen and Cowtown from TN, ME and VT. They claimed VT-Pond-View Gold Levi-ET from Scott & Laurie Langmaid, Danville, VT. The 10/06 Goldwyn sold with a package of 5 Jasper embryos. She is out of Twin-Wind-TC Broker Lass-ET (EX-95), the Aged Cow winner and Res. Grand Champion at the Northeast Fall National 2002. The 2nd dam is 2X All-American C Grossville Ultimate Libby (EX-92).
   Allyndale Holsteins, Cannon, CT spent $15,500 to own Pierstein Dolman Becki a fancy 9/07 Regancrest Dolman, out of Platinum Becky Storm (EX-91 Can) 4-09 2X 365 28,342 4.1 1160 3.1 866. The next 8 dams are VG or EX and included Oliveholme Aeroline’s dam as the 2nd dam of Becky Storm. She was consigned by Pierre Boulet, Montmagny, PQ, Canada.
   Royal Winter Fair’s 2nd place Jr. Yearling of the R&W Show was consigned by Crackholm Holsteins & Rocky Mt Holsteins, Richmond, PQ and claimed by Richard Green, Greenlea Holsteins for $14,600. Roggua Kite Bett-Red is a Markwell Kite daughter due 6/08 to Starfire. Her dam is a VG-86 Can Lakeside daughter that was 2nd Sr. 3Yr-Old at the 2006 Quebec Spring R&W Show.
   The sale was managed by Cowtown Holsteins and Ray LeBlanc and held in the comfortable and efficient Cowtown sale arena.

   


The Carpenter Family, Carpsdale Holsteins, Enosburg Falls, VT added to their herd at this event with the purchase of young and deep pedigreed fancy cows. Here they chat with Jay Roebuck before the sale gets underway.
